Hey!
Hope you are feeling Lush today :)

It has been a while since my last blog post and I totally apologize for that. I am still getting the hang of this so please bear with me.

This week started on a bright note, I feel productive, fierce, motivated and ethereal all at once!
I know, i know very odd perky way to start the week. not to mention an interesting cocktail of emotions. It is definitely God's doing :)
So I thought about it and wanted to know what color represented my exact mood best and alas!........... I found out that the color green reflected my mood perfectly.

"Green symbolizes: life, nature, fertility, well being."

Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color.

Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.

Put some green in your life when you want:

a new state of balance
feel a need for change or growth
freedom to pursue new ideas
protection from fears and anxieties

connected with the demands of others

Product list: Mac Foundation NC50 , Mac powder NC 50, Gabrini brown brow pencil, Suzie beauty plum and terracotta blushes, eye shadow (Palette from ELF) colors aqua green, grey shimmer on the crease of the eyes, white gold on the highlight of the eyebrow, chrome yellow from Mac in the inner corners of the eyes and Bobbi brown no 33 paired up with Super Lustrous gloss from Revlon.

Stay Lush :)

Pocahontas Inspired Look

Hey Everyone :)

Today's look was inspired by my favorite Disney character Pocahontas. I remember watching the show when i was younger and although i knew she was fictional, I thought she was so beautiful!

At the time she was one of the few characters on Disney that was closest to African skin. I find myself often inspired by my childhood thus the reason for this look.

Step 1. Contour and highlight face

I started off with #Mac #Studio Tech #NC45 to highlight cheeks T-zone, bridge of the nose and chin. For this step, it is important to use a foundation brush to outline the parts that you want to stand out.

A darker shade of foundation #Mac #Studio Tech #NW47 to give definition to the nose and cheek bones.

Step 2: Suzie Beauty powder SB40 to set the make up

Step 3: Around the eyelids, i mixed in gold shadow from the ELF pallet paired with Orange from Mac and with matte chrome yellow from Mac in the inner corners of the eyes

To line the top part of the eye I used Mac Fluidline gel eyeliner
Next, I used blue eyeshadow from #Mac Electric Eel to line the bottom of the eye and extend outwards to create a wing.

Step 4:#Suzie Beauty Terracotta as a bronzer for the cheeks and plum also from Suzie Beauty to add a rosy feel to the cheek bones

And Viola!

Finally, Step 5: For the Lips I paired up Golden Rose Bobbi Brown lipstick with Revlon Sp15 super lustrous gloss

I hope this tutorial was helpful to you :)

Be My Valentine

Hey!

.............so its that time again, Valentines day in all its splendor :)
Whether or not you will be spending the night with friends or a special someone, Lush Beauty has 2 makeup ideas that will help you find the perfect look for your night out.

The first look is one I like to call

1. "Hopeless Romantic"
A sexy smoky  is the perfect sexy Valentine's Day look. When choosing the right color for a smoky eye it's best to go with a dark color like charcoal grey or a yummy chocolate brown. Next, find your preferred lip color.

This definitely a look that can be worn on a hot date or a night out with the girls.

2. "Versatile"

The second look is more subtle as it can be worn anywhere. It is the perfect look to wear during the day and can easily transition into the night

Makeup for a night in should be soft and subtle so add pink or semi nude gloss to your lips and give your cheeks color with a few swipes of rosy pink blush. Don't forget to pump up the lash volume with your favorite volumizing mascara

Its an everyday look that is totally sexy and refined

Happy Valentines Day everyone, xoxo
